Rejection

It was the first time.

The first time I got rejected.

Unexpected, it broke me apart.

It felt like a thousand stones weighing

down my heart.

She said no.

Even though she knew

it was my favourite choclate bar.

Ecstasy

Happiness was when I toddled around, crying for my favourite candy, smiling
at every relative who came and went, munching the rolls of rice with curry mama gave me and dozing off with toys around, free of responsibilties.

“Innocence”

In the restaurant,

he stared at me,

leisurely his eyes glowed at my lips.

He slowly swayed towards me
swallowing and craving
under his excitement.

I could see the nervousness in
his eyes, he asked

“Will ya gi me the…ta candy?”,
seeing me smile, the toddler
screamed back to his mum,
“I wan..na. cany, mummy.”,
his lisp just made my day.
